~主文の項を具体的にしよう~
主文の項を書いていると、「もっと内容を充実させたい!具体的に書きたい!」と感じることがあると思います。そんなときに使えるのが項の中に新たに作られる小項で、これらはサブクローズ・サブサブクローズ(sub clause, sub-sub clause)と呼ばれています。
例えば先ほど挙げた主文の例、
1. Calls upon United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund to work in collaboration with Ministries of Education of all Member States to implement a policy which will aim to provide all students the opportunity of receiving fair education in a diversity-friendly environment;
にサブクローズを追加してみます。
1. Calls upon United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund to work in collaboration with Ministries of Education of all Member States to implement a policy which will aim to provide all students the opportunity of receiving fair education in a diversity-friendly environment through:
A) strengthening counseling offices in schools,
B) initiating programs that inform young people on the issue of the importance of fostering respect for different cultural heritages,
C) organizing conferences and seminars with an emphasis on international relations between schools;
と、本体クローズで提案した解決策の内容をより詳しく述べることができました。では、さらにこの項にサブサブクローズを追加してみましょう。

i. implementing world history and ethics classes if non-existent,
ii. inviting experts from different cultures to give lectures on the issue,
iii. organizing trips to art exhibits, museums and study abroad dedicated to cultural diversity teachings,

i. teachers from different cultures,
ii. references to different ethnicities and races in pedagogic textbooks and manuals;
各サブクローズの内容をさらに深め、より具体的な項にすることができました。
実際の国連決議はかなり抽象的な項が並べられていますが、模擬国連会議においては細部まで具体的に記述された項が評価されます。サブクローズ・サブサブクローズを使用しない項の方が少ないほどです。皆さんもぜひ使ってみてください。以下に書き方のルールをまとめます。
